If I could pick a theme for next year, it would be create your own board game. Everyone loves board games. I think it would be really cool if we all brainstormed the next fun board game.

They turned out just the way we imagined them and the page looks really nice. My least favorite page would the home page just because we are having some alignment problems. Once we fix that, I think the home page will look awesome. The repurpose process was all in all really fun. It took a while, but Lilly and I had a good time. The only bad part was the weather. It was really cold when we were dying the shoes and shorts outside. The only Uploading problems we've had was the pages not updating right away. I was really worried about taking web design, but I am so happy I took it. I have learned so many things. The biggest thing would have to be coding. It was very intimidating, but after I while I came to like it a lot. Another thing would have to be using Photoshop. Even though it's confusing to me, it's really cool and something I wouldn't learn in another class. Also, I have gained a lot of patience. A lot of times, things don't turn out the way it should. I've learned to not get mad right away and just go back and find my mistakes.
I think the first page of my website turned out very well. We worked very hard on it, and I really like the way it turned out. My favorite feature would have to be the banner. I think it looks so cool, and the fact that the hanger is actually mine makes it even cooler. My least favorite feature would have to be the picture of the shorts that is in the text. We plan on changing it to an original picture that we will take when we repurpose our items. Also, I would like to place it in a different area so it doesn't look so awkward. In the future, I hope to change our navigation. Right now, our last page isn't lined up perfectly, so hopefully we can improve the alignment. I would rate my website a 7/10. It could use some work, but overall I think it looks pretty good!
Out of the three websites I looked at, I think Rachel and Peyton's was the best. Their's looked the most put together and creative to me. For our website, the three items that are being repurposed are a pair of old pair of jean shorts, a plain pair of black canvas shoes, and a worn out t-shirt. The old pair of shorts will become a new pair of dip-dyed shorts with studs. We will add a unique galaxy print to the black canvas shoes, and the t-shirt will become a fashionable scarf. The main logo of our website is a clothes hanger with a recycle sign circling around it. It represents our overall idea of the website; reusing clothes. The main color is green and the hex code is #14c93b. An original tagline is "your clothes express yourself." Using the magic pen to crop the house was hard. The paint bucket was very helpful.
I think photoshop is a very neat program. The coolest thing so far would have to be the quick fix. The four things non-professionals would use photoshop for is keeping track of their photos, making them look better, presenting photos in a creative way, and sharing photos with other people. The three ways to apply edits in quick fix are the thumbnail preview, slider, and auto button. Saturation is the intensity of color. Hue is the type of color. While watching the tutorial, I learned how to whiten peoples teeth, make dull skies blue, and to change the color of one item on the picture. Will we learn how to make a collage with pictures? Three keyboard shortcuts are: -Hand tool=space bar - erase up="ctr+d" - Brush tool= "[" key, The title of this article is “10 Bright Ideas for Repurposing Just About Anything.” According to the article, repurposing is also known as “upcycling.” It means finding a new use for an old item. “Bright idea” number two sparked me the most because it made me think of the idea of reusing old jeans and transforming them into shorts. The closet waste management company to my house is located at 33195 Harper Avenue, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48082. The phone number is (586)298-6475. The closet Salvation Army is located at 31015 Harper Avenue, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080. The phone number is (586)541-0397. A fun fact about recycling is that 75% of waste is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it. Also, over 87% of Americans have access to curbside or drop-off paper recycling programs. Lastly, if every American recycled just one-tenth of their newspaper, we could save around 25 million trees each year. The idea of reusing old books into shelves stands out to me the most in a good way. I think that is a very creative idea and it also looks really cool. I think the idea of reusing old plastic bottles and turning them into a broom stands out to me the most in a bad way. I think it is a unique idea, but it would not work very well. A possession I might select to repurpose is an old pair of jeans. I could cut them into shorts, bleach them, and then dip dye them two different colors. I could also add studs to the pockets. |
