This weeks article was called "15 Qualities of Mentally Tough People". This article explains 15 qualities that are typically found in mentally tough people. After reading through the qualities, I noticed some that apply to me, and some that I could work on. I definitely need to work on getting enough sleep. I tend to go to bed super late and then have to wake up early, and it is not fun. Also, I need to work on being more positive. Although I try to be positive all the time, I do find myself thinking negatively. However, I am good at forgiving without receiving an apology. I try to always look at both sides of the situation when it comes to getting into fights or arguments and forgive instead of holding a grudge.
In the article "Rohn: A Good Life Contains These 6 Essentials" by Jim Rohn, I can relate to many of the points. "Good friends" really relates to me because I believe I have found a great group of friends. He mentions how it is important to have real and casual friends. I agree with that because not everyone will stick around, but it is important to keep the ones who do. i also relate to "productivity" because it is hard to participate in life when you are not productive. I try to be productive everyday so I have time to do the things that are fun to me.
Jim Rohn was born in Washington. He worked on a farm in Idaho and grew up there. Jim grew up to be a author, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker. Zig Ziglar's talk was very inspiring. One of the things that really stood out to me was having gratitude. It is important to take pride in the things you do and enjoy them. I always say how I do not want to go to school, but at the end of the day, I am lucky to go to Lake Shore. Also he says how people are negative and if you want to help others, you need to help yourself first. I find myself being negative at times, but I try to remain positive.
