My three words are excelsior, ambitious and dedication. Excelsior is the most significant to me. It is the Latin word for “ever upwards.” Excelsior really fits me because I try to look at the good things in life all the time. If you only look at the bad things, what is there to live for?
One thing I would consider awesome is the motion censored paper towel dispensers in public bathrooms. I think they are so convenient. Whenever I am done washing my hands I cannot wait to wave my hand and yank the paper off. It is way better then pushing the handle down to get paper towel. I know this might sound weird but in my opinion that is awesome. Today I had a basketball game. One of the girls on the other team rolled her ankle and had to be carried off. She couldn’t get up to shake hands at the end, so I decided to walk up to her and say “good game” and then hold the door open for her since she was having trouble. I decided to do this because I wanted to show good sportsmanship. I felt bad because she was in a lot of pain. The rule that stands out most for me is “kindness boomerangs.” I think everyone should be nice to one another. I know it is really hard sometimes, and when I’m having a hard time being kind I just tell myself, “Kill them with kindness.” Once people realize how nice you are being, they will return the favor. My most troublesome subject in school would have to be Geometry. I usually like math and do not have a problem with it, but Geometry kills me. Last year I liked Algebra and it interested me. This year, it’s a whole other story. Finding measures of shapes and using theorems to prove shapes are congruent bore me. Also, Geometry doesn’t come easily to me. When I don’t get what I’m doing I will watch a YouTube video about it or ask my teacher for some help. When I start drifting off in my own little world while my teacher is explaining something, I tell myself to get it together or I’ll regret it later when I don’t know what I’m doing. My most important aspiration is to graduate from med school and become a nurse. Ever since I was little I’ve wanted to do something in life that had to do with medicine. My Aunt is a nurse and I always enjoy listening to stories she tells me about work. I know med school is a really long time, but I think after I’m done with it, it will be well worth it. It would be really cool if I got accepted to Michigan University, go blue! The title of this story is called The Farmer’s Donkey. It is by Wisdomshare.com. The story is about a farmer’s donkey that accidentally fell into an abandoned well. The farmer came to the conclusion that his donkey had no chance to live. He called all of his neighbors to help him bury the donkey and the well to prevent any other accidents. As everyone started shoveling dirt in, the donkey realized what was happening and did not like it. He cried, but then stopped. The farmer noticed that every pile of dirt that hit the donkey’s back, he shook off and took a step up. Soon enough the donkey got out and ran away happily! I personally really enjoyed this story. It is very touching and I think a lot of people would enjoy it. I can connect to this because I’ve had a few experiences where people think I cannot do something, but I end up doing it. My cousin Joe can relate to this topic. He plays basketball and sometimes he doesn’t feel like he is doing his best and wants to give up. Yet, he finds a way to overcome the obstacles of the game and gives it his all! This information will benefit me a lot in the future. One way is to never give up. Just like the donkey, do the unexpected. In the world of work, you could get in big trouble if you give up something you’ve been assigned. I am going to try to change my perspective on hard assignments. A lot of times I feel like I cannot do it, but I am going to have hard things to accomplish all through school and work. I just need to finish it and never give up on it! I agree with the description. I think my friends and family would describe me as friendly because I try to be nice to everyone and be their friend. Also, they would say I am very energetic and sometimes crazy. Being competitive is one of my personal strengths. I play three sports and whether it is on the court or on the field, I play to win. Being impatient is one of my weaknesses. I have a hard time waiting and want whatever I need as soon as possible. I am going to try to be more patient and wait. |
